What About Weather Radios?

Radios are classified as recyclable waste. Recyclables are, by definition, waste items that can be reprocessed into new products-such as metals, glass, and clothing.

Channels for recycling used radios do exist, though their recycling value and potential applications vary depending on the device's condition.

In the current market, the recycling price for used electronic devices typically ranges from 5 to 50 yuan per unit, depending on the model, physical condition, and the content of precious metals (such as copper or silver) in the circuit board. For instance, a traditional FM radio that is in good condition (looking nearly new) and fully functional might be purchased by the second-hand market for 10–30 yuan; conversely, even for a completely broken unit, recyclers may still purchase it based on its metal content if the circuit board contains gold-plated connectors or specialized chips.
